Things that are really p***ing me of today

In no particular order:
- The guy ahead of me in line at Kroger last week. He stood there with a vacant look on his face while the clerk rang up his groceries. He appeared stunned when she announced the total, as if the idea that he had to pay for his crap was a novel concept. He then calmly took his check book out of his pocket and deliberately filled it out, and then — without tearing it out and handing it to the clerk — made not of the amount and subtracted it from the previous total. And all this time I’m thinking this guy could not have been standing there in a ballerina’s tutu and I could not have thought less of his masculinity.
- Idiot commuters. I’ve taken to using I-74 to I-474 to Illinois Route 6 to get to work every day. I’m not quite convinced it’s really quicker or that it saves gas. But I don’t spend as much time at red rights. I am convinced, however, that it’s only a matter of days that I will see a spectacular roll-over accident, judging from the number of last-minute lane changes I’ve seen this past week.
- My employers. Thanks for the wonderful new job. But Is it too much to ask that you NOT schedule me before 11 p.m. or after 3 p.m? I got spoiled the month I wasn’t working. Oh, and I would prefer to be paid in cash at the end of the day, not by check every two weeks. You’ll get right on that? Thanks.
